MADISON—A new study of the Wisconsin economy suggests that the focus on statewide employment trends may be misplaced, due to major regional differences over the past 13 years. The new Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance (WISTAX) study, “A Closer Look At Wisconsin’s Economy,” explores changes in employment and other economic indicators at the regional and county levels since 2000. WISTAX is a nonpartisan organization devoted to public policy research and citizen education.
